Talking to mediapersons in New Delhi, Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde said that his office is in touch with the officials of Andhra Pradesh and he had just talked to Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy about the incident and the situation aftermath.

“We may not say much about the incident so early. I am in touch with the Chief Minister. Official have informed us that the bombs were kept in metal boxes on cycles. A team of NIA (National Investigation Agency) is heading to Hyderabad for further investigation. We have got some information two days ago, but the I may not tell you more than this at the present,” said Shinde.
Earlier to the Home Minister, Union Home Secretary R. K. Singh confirmed the number of casualties and said that all the injured people have been admitted in local hospitals.
The explosions took place at rush hour near the popular Konark cinema, an elevated bridge used by pedestrians, and a bus stand in Dilsukh Nagar, which has a large fruit and vegetable market.
Eye witnesses said they heard two loud explosions within a couple of minutes. Police have not yet confirmed either the cause of the explosions or the number of casualties.
The first blast occurred around 7 p.m. near a tiffin centre opposite Venkatadri theatre and the second near Konark theatre. Both the theatres are about 500 meters from each other.
Ambulances and police vehicles rushed to the area. The injured were shifted to Yashoda Hospital at Malakpet and to the government-run Osmania Hospital.Gory pictures of the victims without limbs were seen. Others with bleeding injuries were shifted to ambulances.
All the major cities including Delhi and Mumbai have been put on high alert.
